Treasured Handmade Christmas Gift

Handmade is made from the heart. I can‘t remember many handmade gifts - but my aunt Dagmar loves to make handmade cards. I have received many handmade cards from her over the years. I like to display them on the shelf for months and then tuck them away into a safe place. We used to make  handmade cards  together but haven’t in a while. Maybe one day we will make cards together again.  Links: Bowl Cover Christmas Stocking Favorite Tradition

Managing Time

Quilter’s Reflection September 2023

It’s been a rough beginning of school year for me. The students are awesome- but I am on week three fighting sickness after sickness. I have been without my voice for a week now, hopefully it returns soon. I was trying to figure out how many projects I have started or currently working on / partly started. During the school year I don’t have much time for my crafting hobbies – so I put most of it on hold for slow weekends or for break times. I didn’t realize how they were piling up.   I could definitely not go into business doing this stuff. My attention span – just can’t handle one project at a time – I get bored and have to hop to the next project, or I get afraid that I will forget this super awesome idea – and must get started right away! Maybe I have a problem?  lol.   Here is a  list  of my current projects, incomplete projects and projects on hold: 1.  Michelle’s  Bear Claw Quilt 2.  Star Scrappy Quilt 3.  Diamonds are forever ...

House Family tree from Canada

Wish me luck as a start new research on my 5th great-grandmother Magdalene House. According to Ancestry.com she was born and died in Canada. Recently I noticed that Facebook is full of genealogy research forums, so I decided to join “Canada Genealogy Ancestors and Me” today. Maybe joining one of these forums will widen my search results.  Links: Ancestry Research Cave Springs Map Genealogy Researcher Hermanus House House Family Info House Family Research House Family of the Mohawk  House Land House Barn Margaret Zuke Neanderthal DNA

Bell Pepper with Roast Beef

Ingredients needed: Onion Garlic  Bell pepper  Provolone cheese Cream cheese 1 lbs. Roast beef  Baby bell mushrooms  Worcestershire sauce Butter Salt and pepper  Cook union and garlic until glassy. I used one small onion and 3 garlic cloves. After I was done cooking the union mixture- I set it aside. My hubby doesn’t like onions, so I cook them separately for myself.  Cut peppers in half. 1 bell pepper per person will be sufficient enough. The two halves are filling.  Sauté mushrooms in butter- add salt & pepper to season.  I added union to the bottom of my bell peppers.  Add roast beef to the mushroom mixture - cook 5-7 min.  Add a little Worcestershire sauce for flavor.  Add cream cheese - let it melt in for 5-7 minutes.  Add filling into bell pepper and top with provolone cheese.  Bake 20-30 minutes.  Links: Low Carb Foods My Favorite Recipes!
