  On this day three years ago, I was still learning quilting techniques. I decided a great way to learn was by doing a Linus quilt. I wonder if someone is enjoying it.    In my original blog I posted my step - by - step directions. Growing strawberries from seed takes some time- it takes two weeks before you see it germinate. Strawberries are a perennial meaning it comes back every year - if managed to keep alive.    This tasty plant produces an abundant amount of fruit in late spring through fall.  Water: Apply enough water so that the soil remains moist but not soggy. For soap making: Basil is good for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is recommended to steep the leaves in water that you then use in the soap. You can also add vitamin E at 1% to make it even better.  Basil oil: Basil, then double the olive oil from basil amount let it sit out in the sun for a day. Saw this pattern on Facebook and Pinterest, so I eyed the pattern and came up with my own measurements. Supposedly... this is a old pattern. It caught my attention because it uses remnants of fabric and I hate seeing things go to waste. This project uses a dryer sheet. So... save your dryer sheets!  Cut a piece of paper and dryer sheet to 6.5” square.  Find the 2” width and mark with line.  Draw a line on the left and right to the bottom center.  Cut out pattern piece.  Cut a rectangular piece of fabric for the center piece. 3” x 9.5” Place pattern piece on top of the fabric and cut to size. I used symmetrical patterns / colors on each side of the diamond. The width of fabric was 1/2” - 2”, s and used scrap triangle pieces for the ends.  Watch short video clip „ here “ Finished block size should be 6.5“ Very similar to endless chain:

Recently I have had a couple of friends ask for sewing machine recommendations. I currently own five sewing machines myself. When looking for a sewing machine I think that it really just depends on your budget and what you are planning on doing with it. If you are looking into quilting large blankets, it's recommended to look for a machine with a large throat.  Machines that own: Vintage Brother Machine Vintage Pfaff Vintage Kenmore Simple Baby lock  Simple Singer Baby lock Altair Singer 347     If you are on a tight budget, you can find a machine through your buy&sale pages, garage sales or estate sales. Just make sure that the machine actually works before you purchase it. Right now during this pandemic it might be difficult to find a machine - but I was lucky enough to find a  Singer  at my local Walmart. It was less than $100.00. I found this beauty at an estate sell and it still works. I paid $35.00 for it and brought it home. What I didn’t know is that it’s also an embroidery machine.  I love that it comes with its own carrying case also. Now I have to learn how to use this treasure. All metal except for one nylon gear. My husband bought the kit at  HomeDepot, it's a Airseal Pet Door by Ideal Pet Products.  It was difficult to get them to use it at first, but once day three rolled around they started using it with a little bit of bribery to help them along.
