Jacks on Six Quilt Block

30 Minute Felt Board

Having all of my quilt blocks in a box just wasn’t working for me. I found a nice large skinny board box in the garage (left over from Christmas), placed white felt on it with a little bit of Elmers school glue. Then, I stapled the sides down to keep the felt nice and flat- making sure I didn’t leave any bumps or waves. On the very back I duck taped all the loose edges. Now it’s perfect for me- for now. It works anyway.... All you need is some felt material and cord board. I found a nice long skinny box in my garage. Make sure the fabric will fit over it. Spread out some glue to hold fabric in place. (I used Elmers glue) Place fabric on top and smooth out bumps.  Staple down sides and duck tape the back. Ta Dah! It’s done

Broken Dishes Quilt Block

I love how my two blues come together in this “Broken Dishes” Pattern. If you are wanting to make one of these your self just click the link “ here “ for a free pattern. Why buy the pattern when the internet is full of free resources.

Flying Dutchman Drawing

Another practice drawing inspired by the "Flying Dutchman" quilt block design. The half triangles are 3 3/8" and the squares 3", then will equal a 10" square.

Pinwheel Quilt Block

Six strip or Rail Fence Quilt Block

Here is my six strip that I completed which was part of the 364 day quilt challenge by KatherinKerr.com. Below are pictures of some other ones I have completed in color and then contrast (to view the lights and darks) so far:

Mountains Quilt Block

Completed my January 13th Quilt Block today from the Katherin Kerr 365 day quilt challenge. Some of my squares are a little off on size, but I think it looks unique. I‘m already three days behind and have some catching up to do.

Early birthday gift

My husband surprised me with an early birthday gift. He bought me two Rotary & Ruler Combos.  It lies nice and flat on the table, not big and clunky like my paper cutter.

Economy Quilt Block

I attempted another quilt block drawing using my "WACOM" drawing pad. This block is called "Economy". I'm not sure why it's called that, but maybe I'll try to research it at a later date. If you want to make a block like this, then you will need to make: 4 x 5 7/8" rectangles for the outside 1 x 5 1/2" center block 1 x 6 1/4" square block , cut into fourths (purple)

Beginner's Delight Quilt Block Square

I recently bought a Wacom creative pen tablet and this is my first attempt at drawing a quilt block. I still have a ways to go, lol. I just need to figure out how to make those lines straighter. Anyway, I thought the block name was fitting for my little project "beginner's delight". In order to make a 10" block. Make the larger triangles in the center 3 7/8" and the smaller ones 2 7/8". Disappearing Four Patch

Another quilt has been completed. I finally completed the binding today. Here it is! I even made a pillow sham to match the bedding.  My goal was to have it match the painting on the wall.

Sew Share it Saturday!

Sew Share It Saturday: Every other Saturday will be "Sew Share It Saturday" for all of us to share something they are working on. Similar to "Whatcha Working on Wednesday" but on Saturdays. I am not sure about all of you, but it is easier for me to share things on Saturday when I am home and not at work. In the comments below, post a picture/comment with what you are working on.
