Economy or Square in a Square Block

Here is a picture of the one I made: If you add an extra layer then you might be able to create something like the picture below- which Someone had shared on Facebook. Unfortunately they did not post who created it- or else I would have added their info to this page.  Find the pattern „ here “ or „ here “ - by Threadbear Crestions.  Links: Block Library My Quilting Addiction

Texas Returning to Normal Weather

Trying to get back to normal after spending a week trying to stay warm. Wondering every night- if this is the night we are going to freeze to death. It was a horrible experience and wish it on no one. I thought that maybe I was just being sensitive- but others in my community feel the same way. Many of us still feel the stinging cold feeling in our bones, wondering if it’s returning again. Learning that our neighborhood was intentionally shut off to save on power is a disturbing feeling and will create a major distrust towards our city.   People came together in our neighborhood and looked after each other. Our next door neighbors and friends probably saved our lives by giving us propane tanks and warm food. Some people like us couldn’t leave our homes due to pets, belongings or health reasons. We were told lies daily - no one knew this was going to take a week. I feel sad for the people who lost pets (fish, sugar glider and a dog). I didn’t know that having basic electricity is a ...

It’s Crazy Cold Outside

While our power has been out since 5 am Monday, 2/15/2021 we are lucky to have nice neighbors.  ðŸ˜¬ðŸ˜† It’s been a cold adventure and we don’t know when it will end, but we are safe for now. Unfortunately, I’m not feeling well right now, caught a virus or something and can’t get anyone else sick. We are forced to stay in our home with no electricity- hopefully it will return soon.  Links: Handwarmer Tag

Fabric Needle Book with pocket

Yellow Needle Book

I created this needle book for my daughter Kirstin. First I cut a bunch of 1“ squares (45 squares) and sewed them all together.  While sewing, making fabric chains is a hoot.  I added a nice pretty big yellow button for the front. This booklet is going to be for my daughter Kirstin. Her favorite color is yellow- she’s going to love it!  Feel free to visit my Etsy store " here ", and order one for yourself. These would also be great gifts for new or pro-sewers. See my other needle book creation "here" . Next on my to-do list is bowl cozies. Wish me luck!
