Papa Groot Hikes

Today I would like to share a story about my brother in-law Bob Santin. He is on Instagram under the name papa.groot.hikes. He informed us about a year ago that he was going to hike the AP trail, and recently just got started. I think his plan is finishing sometime in August. I’m pretty sure he said he wants to hike the whole thing. I think it’s amazing that he is actually is doing it! If you want to please feel free to friend him on Instagram and send positive energy his way as he partakes his adventure.    Before I didn’t really know much about this trail- but then during one of my PD‘s (professional development) classes at school we were taught a new reading strategy on how to implement „ Think Marks “ that is when I learned about another fantastic person named Grandma Gatewood  who had also hiked the AP trail back in a time when it wasn’t so common.  Some pictures of his adventure: Links: Grandma Gatewood Local Article

Llano Quilt Shop

The Country Quilt Shop   On my drive to my mom’s house, which is a 4.5 hour drive from my house. I decided for the fun of it to google quilt shops along the way- and low and behold there was one right near our favorite BBQ places “ Coopers BBQ ”. It was super windy that day and as I got out of my vehicle it basically blew me right into the shop. I tried to take a good picture of the outside- but the wind was so strong.     As I entered the store, I was greeted immediately by two very friendly staff members. They showed me around the store and told me about classes that are also offered. The also mentioned that they also do Saturday classes! I signed up to get emails from them and hoping to be able to go to one of the future Saturday classes.    Today I bought some fabric and slap bands for my stabilizer at home.
