When fully grown the white heads are supposed to be large, smooth and very solid. Can be eaten raw, has vitamin content.
Depth to sow: 1/2 inch
Seed spacing: 2 inches
Row spacing: 3 feet
Days in harvest: 65-70
Must be kept out of frost. Plant should be spaced 2 feet apart. It is recommended to loosely tie the leaves together to protect the heads as they develop. Zone 2 central Texas ; March - June
Crispy Roasted Cauliflower Recipe
This simple and healthy recipe creates perfectly crispy roasted cauliflower that’s flavorful and nutritious.
Ingredients:
1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil for higher heat)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for smoky flavor)
1/2 tsp ground cumin (optional)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Fresh parsley or lemon zest for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Prepare Cauliflower: In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Spread Evenly: Spread the cauliflower in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure the florets have space to prevent steaming.
Roast: Roast for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy on the edges.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon zest for extra brightness. Enjoy as a side dish or snack!
