Creates an 8” block I used my tiny scrap pieces for this project. Each square is 2 1/2” in size. The 16 squares create a beautiful star.  Started a new 8“ -   string quilt block  today. It’s a great way to use up those scraps, that way nothing goes to waste.  I hope it all turns out the way I’m imagining it in my mind. Most of it is made from mask making remnant pieces.   I do have a  wishlist on Amazon - I have a few books I would like to have.    I recently made some  chapstick holders  and little  zipper bags  using a Kimberbell pattern for in the hoop embroidery machine.    I used the fabric I designed called „ Flower Medley “ it can be purchased from  Spoonflower  or by contacting me. Christmas this year was a little different- Oma Edith is in the hospital with some kind of infection, so Christmas Eve wasn’t our traditional family gathering. Poor Oma was is/ was upset she had to cancel, I’m glad she is doing okay now and might even return home after Thursday. Me, Sebastian, my mom, Kirstin and Nicole baked cookies this year. Kirstin makes the most delicious sugar cookies! We had a wonderful breakfast get-together with Chase’s parents and everyone was brave and ate my experimental breakfast casserole. Ed tried making a turkey on Christmas Day and that didn’t work out due to the turkey going bad. It really was stinky- luckily we didn’t try eating it or we all would have had food poisoning. Instead we tried something new inspired by my husband Ed’s favorite Christmas movie- we went and ate Chinese food.   What is Alpha-1?  I also did not know what Alpha 1 was until I took a DNA test through 23&Me . Found on the SERPINA1 gene - on chromosome 14. It's an inherited condition that can possibly cause liver and lung problems in the future. It is often misdiagnosed as COPD.
