Alpha-1

  What is Alpha-1? 

I also did not know what Alpha 1 was until I took a DNA test through 23&Me. Found on the SERPINA1 gene - on chromosome 14. It's an inherited condition that can possibly cause liver and lung problems in the future. It is often misdiagnosed as COPD. Unfortunately, there is no cure for it, but the Alpha-1 foundation offers educational resources.
