⭐ Monthly Quilt Star Sew Along

A year‑long quilting adventure — one star block at a time

Join me in creating a beautiful collection of star‑themed quilt blocks throughout the year. Whether you're brand‑new to quilting or a seasoned maker, this sew‑along is designed to be fun, supportive, and drama‑free — just the way quilting should feel.

Each month, a new star block pattern is posted in a variety of sizes. All blocks are pieced only, and all instructions are free. Please invite friends to join us rather than sharing files directly.

✨ How It Works

  • At the start of the year, we choose a theme — this year it's Stars.

  • Each month, a new block pattern is posted.

  • Share your finished block in the group to be entered into a monthly random drawing for a fat quarter or another quilting goodie.

  • All block files are located under “Pictures or Files" in my Facebook group.

💛 Group Guidelines

This space is meant to be kind, creative, and encouraging.

  • Be supportive and respectful.

  • No quilt police.

  • No selling, politics, religion, medical updates, prayer requests, or charity requests.

  • If you’re unsure about a post, message an admin.

  • Repeated rule‑breaking may result in removal.

  • Most importantly: Have fun and enjoy the process.

Fidget Blanket (Fummeldecke) Ideas

This will be my first time ever making a fidget blanket- I was so happy to have the opportunity today to gift my Oma a fidget blanket. I love her with all my heart, it just makes me so sad that not much can be done for her while struggling through dementia. She told me it was beautiful and she appeared to like it. I showed her each square and what she can do with it. The first thing she noticed was the wording; „Mit Liebe Gemacht“ which translates to „Made with love“.  Oma Hildegard is German and I wanted to make sure she would recognize things and always remember that we love her.  What is a Fidget Blanket? Fidget blankets are therapeutic small lap quilts to which different kinds of things are sewn or added on. These items offer sensory stimulation that can have a calming effect on patient who struggle with memory loss. The Fidget blankets help them stay busy avoiding boredom. It provides a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often reassuring and calming. ...
