🌿 The Benefits of Incorporating Art Into Coaching Sessions

🌿 The Benefits of Incorporating Art into Coaching Sessions How creativity deepens clarity, insight, and self‑leadership Coaching is, at its heart, a conversation — a space for reflection, curiosity, and forward movement. But sometimes words alone can feel limiting. They can get tangled, overthought, or stuck in familiar patterns. That’s where art comes in. Incorporating creative practices into coaching sessions opens a different kind of doorway — one that’s intuitive, visual, and deeply human. You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need special supplies. You simply need a willingness to explore. Here are some of the most meaningful benefits of weaving art into the coaching process, all within a non‑clinical, client‑led, coaching‑specific framework. 🌱 Art Helps Quiet the Mind and Access Inner Wisdom When clients draw, collage, or make simple marks, they naturally shift out of analytical thinking and into a more intuitive space. This gentle shift helps them: notice what feels...

Half black male guppy

Half-Black Red Guppy (often referred to simply as a HB Red Guppy). Here is a quick breakdown of what gives it away in your photos: • The Half-Black Body: The entire back half of its torso (from just behind the dorsal fin to the base of the tail) features a dark, solid black or deep midnight-blue "tuxedo" pattern. • The Vibrant Caudal Fin: It sports a bright, fan-shaped orange-red tail that contrasts sharply with the dark body. • The Platinum/Silver Head: The front half of the fish has a lighter, iridescent silver or platinum sheen, sometimes showing a slight blue or violet catch in the light right near the dorsal fin. A Fun Bonus In the second and fourth photos, you can see its tankmates hanging around! • The one right next to it with the dark blue/purple iridescent body and matching dark tail looks like a Half-Black Blue (or Purple) guppy. • The smaller, slender one swimming below them with the intricate, speckled patterning on its tail and a distinct black ...

🌿 Creative Tools for Navigating Transitions

🌿 Creative Tools for Navigating Transitions How art helps you move through change with clarity, compassion, and intention Transitions are the spaces between chapters — the moments when something is ending, something else is beginning, and you’re standing in the doorway between the two. These seasons can feel exciting, disorienting, hopeful, overwhelming, or all of the above. In coaching, creative practices offer a gentle way to navigate these in‑between moments. They help you slow down, listen inward, and make meaning piece by piece. You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need to know what you’re making. You simply need a willingness to explore. Here are some of the most supportive, non‑clinical creative tools for moving through transitions with clarity and care. 🌱 1. Visual Timelines: Seeing Your Story Unfold A visual timeline helps you map where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going — without needing perfect words. You might include: symbols for key moments co...

Male Guppies

My gorgeous trio! I have a fantastic mix of vibrant colors and distinct patterns swimming together. Based on their body shapes, tail types, and coloration, here is a breakdown of what I have from top to bottom: 1. Top: Tiger / Cobra Endler's Hybrid • The Look: This little guy has a sleek, slender body with a striking, intricate yellow and black pattern that resembles snakeskin or a tiger's coat. • The Verdict: He looks to be an Endler’s Livebearer hybrid (often called a Tiger or Yellow Cobra Endler). Endler's are close relatives to standard guppies but stay a bit smaller and usually sport that distinct, intense patterning and asymmetrical, double-sword tail shape starting to form. 2. Middle: Blue Tuxedo / Blue Neon Guppy • The Look: A classic beauty. He features a dark, solid navy-to-black coloration on the back half of his body (resembling a formal tuxedo jacket) that contrasts sharply with a shimmering, iridescent neon blue dorsal and delta tail fin. • The Verdi...

Beagle Mom of two

Today was a nice day to sit outside and eat a bagel with my beagles. They watched as I ate - my adorable beagle girls always want what I eat. I of course, gave them a beagle friendly snack afterwards. It is nice to be able to sleep in this week and not worry about lesson plans. All my plants on the back porch are growing beautifully right now. I hope it stays that way - and the hot Texas sun doesn’t burn them to ashes. It’s 88 degrees Fahrenheit today but already feels much hotter.  I now also have a display on my classroom wall of my dogs.  I also designed and sell beagle print fabric „ here “. Beagles with hearts - new $19.00 per yard plus shipping. Links: Beagle Ideas & More Daisy relaxing Piper eating Relaxing in the sun

Guppies in my tank

Based on the distinct patterns, body shapes, and coloration in the photos, I have Endler’s Livebearers (often called Endler’s Guppies) or very close Endler-Guppy hybrids . Here is a breakdown of what you can see in the images: 1. The Male (Left in the second photo, top in the first) • What to look for: This little guy is smaller, slender, and has the classic vivid, broken patterning on his body, along with a distinct double-sword or "forked" tail shape with colored margins. • The Strain: He looks very much like a Tiger Endler or a Snake-chest Endler variant. The combination of black bars, yellow/orange accents, and that specific tail structure is a dead giveaway for Endler genetics rather than a standard fancy guppy. 2. The Female (Right in both photos) • What to look for: She is slightly larger, rounder, and has a mostly translucent, silver-tan body with clear fins. • The Clue: Notice the dark, round area near the back of her belly? That is her gravid spot , i...

A Philatelist’s Story

I started my philatelical hobby when I was nine years old after a near death bicycle accident. The accident left me hospitalized in a hospital bed for six very long months. Friends and family tried keeping me entertained by giving me coloring books, Barbie’s, tapes, stickers and stamps. It was nice when company came to visit me and I received gifts almost every time. When I left the hospital, I had a nice collection of stamps started. I ended up with stamps from over 300 countries! At that time, I didn’t even realize that that many countries even existed.   As The years continued, I have added to my collection by visiting antique stores, exchanging stamps through pen pals and sometimes ordering some through the Mystic Stamp Catalog . Occasionally, when something caught my eye - I would buy a whole sheet from the post office. Philately became a hobby for me. There are many reasons why I collect stamps. I enjoy it and it is fun for me. The pure fact of collecting is exh...

🌿 The Difference Between Expression and Interpretation in Coaching

🌿 The Difference Between Expression and Interpretation in Coaching Why your art doesn’t need to be analyzed to be meaningful When people hear that art is part of a coaching session, they often imagine something therapeutic — a coach decoding symbols, analyzing colors, or interpreting what a drawing “means.” But in art‑life coaching, the power of creativity comes from expression , not interpretation. This distinction is essential. It protects your autonomy, honors your inner wisdom, and keeps the work firmly within the coaching realm. Here’s a gentle, grounded look at the difference — and why it matters so much. 🌱 Expression: Your Inner Voice, Made Visible Expression is the heart of creative coaching. It’s the moment your hand moves before your mind catches up. It’s the color you choose without knowing why. It’s the shape, symbol, or collage piece that feels right in your body. Expression is: intuitive personal client‑led non‑judgmental rooted in the present moment When you expr...

Cinchlid Diet

Recommended Weekly Feeding Schedule A varied diet promotes vibrant coloration and prevents digestive issues like swim bladder disorders or bloating.   Monday to Saturday (Daily): Morning Base Diet:  High-quality cichlid pellets (color-enhancing or high-protein). Afternoon Snack:  Rotate between frozen or live bloodworms, brine shrimp, or mysis shrimp. Vegetable Treats (1 time a week):  Offer blanched, deshelled peas, blanched spinach, or zucchini to provide plant-based fiber. Sunday: Fast Day:  Do not feed your cichlid at all. This allows their digestive tract to clear out and prevents the bloating these hybrid fish are prone to. Best Practices for Feeding Portion Control:  Hybrid cichlids are prone to bloating. Always feed very small amounts and remove any uneaten food after 5 minutes to prevent ammonia spikes in your tank. Pre-Soak Pellets:  Because parrot cichlids have modified, fused mouths, it can be slightly harder for them to eat and digest dry ...

🌿 Creative Tools for Building Emotional Resilience (Non‑Clinical)

🌿 Creative Tools for Building Emotional Resilience (Non‑Clinical) How simple creative practices help you stay flexible, steady, and connected during life’s ups and downs Emotional resilience isn’t about being unaffected by life. It’s about being able to bend without breaking — to feel deeply, respond intentionally, and return to your center even when things feel uncertain. In coaching, resilience is not something we diagnose or treat. It’s something we nurture through awareness, presence, and gentle practices that help clients reconnect with their inner steadiness. Creativity is one of the most supportive ways to do this because it offers a safe, intuitive space to explore emotions without pressure or interpretation. Here are some non‑clinical creative tools that help build emotional resilience, piece by piece. 🌱 1. The “Resilience Palette” Create a small palette of colors that represent qualities you want to strengthen — calm, courage, patience, hope, grounding. Then, each da...
