Large Blue Nebula Female Guppies

Ordered my first mail order of blue nebula guppies. Hopefully, they arrive safely.

I think they will go well with my Turquoise male guppies

More about Blue nebula guppies here:

Key Characteristics & Care
  • Appearance: They exhibit a metallic, often "cobra skin" pattern on their bodies, with deep blue and purple tails. No two are exactly alike, often featuring a rainbow of colors including teal, green, and dark tones.
  • Temperament & Hardiness: They are generally peaceful, making them excellent, active additions to community tanks.
  • Water Requirements: They thrive in hard, alkaline water, with temperatures ranging from \(72-78^\circ F\)
  • Diet: They are omnivores that thrive on a varied diet, including flakes, frozen, and live foods like baby brine shrimp.
Breeding & Availability
  • Breeding: Nebula Steels are known to breed true. Females, which are often sold separately, may not show the intense color of the males but are crucial for producing the strain.

The Blue Nebula guppy (also known as the Nebula Steel guppy) is a prized freshwater aquarium strain famous for its striking, iridescent blue-metallic sheen and highly intricate tail patterns. It is highly sought after for both display tanks and selective breeding. @ trailscouncil.org +4

Standout Features

  • Dazzling Coloration: Their bodies flash an intense, almost metallic neon-blue that shifts under aquarium lighting, accented by subtle hints of purple, black, and sometimes yellow.
  • Intricate Tail Patterns: Males boast flowing tails that often display a galaxy, snakeskin, or mosaic pattern overlaid with bright iridescence.
Female Blue Nebula guppies typically grow to an adult size of 1.5 to 2.4 inches (approximately 4 to 6 cm) in length. They are generally larger, rounder, and less brightly colored than the males, and will often develop a dark "gravid spot" near their abdomen as they mature. [123]
Quick Facts:
  • Length: 1.5 - 2.4 inches (4 - 6 cm)
  • Appearance: Less colorful than males, deeper and broader bellies.
  • Lifespan: 1.5 to 3 years with proper tank maintenance.

Fidget Blanket (Fummeldecke) Ideas

This will be my first time ever making a fidget blanket- I was so happy to have the opportunity today to gift my Oma a fidget blanket. I love her with all my heart, it just makes me so sad that not much can be done for her while struggling through dementia. She told me it was beautiful and she appeared to like it. I showed her each square and what she can do with it. The first thing she noticed was the wording; „Mit Liebe Gemacht“ which translates to „Made with love“.  Oma Hildegard is German and I wanted to make sure she would recognize things and always remember that we love her.  What is a Fidget Blanket? Fidget blankets are therapeutic small lap quilts to which different kinds of things are sewn or added on. These items offer sensory stimulation that can have a calming effect on patient who struggle with memory loss. The Fidget blankets help them stay busy avoiding boredom. It provides a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often reassuring and calming. ...
