Low Carb Lunch

Please read below for more healthy lunch ideas. Most of these lunches are low carb and helped me lose 35 lbs. in May 2019. My goal is to lose weight again before the summer time.  Strawberries with cottage cheese sprinkled with cinnamon and stevia.  Do you have a healthy lunch idea under 12g carbs? Making your own binding

Instead of buying binding, I make it from my fabric remnants. For kiddie blankets I make it fun by cutting 10” strips with 2.5” width and rotate the colors and patterns.    After cutting the fabrics to size, I see the pieces together right sides together- making a long strip. After ironing the seams down. I fold the fabric in half lengthwise and roll it up in one big roll.  Click " here " for directions on how to bind a quilt.

✂️ Embroidery Tape: What Kind Should You Use?

If you’re working on an embroidery project with a zipper or placing fabric on the underside of the hoop, you’ve probably seen the instruction: “Tape it down.” And then comes the big question… What kind of tape actually works best? The truth: every embroiderer has a favorite, and there’s no single “right” answer. Below is a clean, easy-to-skim guide based on real recommendations from makers — plus a few helpful taping tips. 🧵 Helpful Taping Tips Use multiple pieces of tape for a secure hold. Make sure pieces are long enough to keep fabric or zippers from shifting. Place tape so it’s not in the stitching path . Reuse tape pieces when possible — many types hold up for several rounds. 🎀 Popular Tape Options for Embroidery Washi Tape Paper‑crafter’s favorite Easy to remove Gentle on fabric Transport / Medical / Surgical / Micropore Tape Holds tight without damaging fabric Easy to remove Doesn’t gum up the needle Tears neatly Often reusable Blue or Green Painter’s Tape No sticky resid...

Birthday Fun Swap

Because of high postage costs, this is an in-country swap. You will swap with someone in your own country unless you specify that you are willing to swap out of your country, and there are available partners. Have you ever wanted to do something extra special for your birthday celebrations? A Birthday placemat and coaster set will make the birthday boy or girl feel extra special. For this swap, you will make 1 birthday placemat and 1 coordinating coaster. Ask your partner if she wants it to be specifically for a boy or a girl, or a generic design. Your placemat should be approximately 12" x 19", and the coaster should be only big enough for a cup. Your placemat must have some quilting and have either thin batting or flannel in the middle. Both the placemat and coaster must be machine washable. If you have never made a quilted placemat or coaster, there are lots of tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest. Please message me, Cyndy Clemons, if you have any questions or need help. H...

4” Squares Quilt Idea

Another great inspiration shared by a crafter using 4" cut squares.   (I can't find the post I saw originally that inspired me.)  I specifically avoided florals and black and whites.  I just started sewing blocks of squares without paying close attention to the location.  It is 20 squares x 26 squares.  Twin size.

Schwebische Maultaschen a Family Favorite

Every year for Good Friday I cook a special Swabian-German dish it is called; Maultaschen!  Maul = Mouth, Tasche = Pocket, Mouth Pockets.   Maultaschen are a Swabian specialty from southwestern Germany. They are akin to Italian ravioli, Chinese wontons and Jewish kreplach. A simply pasta pocket filled with a variety of ingredients. They are popular during the week of Easter. Maultaschen were apparently invented as a conniving way of having meat during Lent, by grinding up the meat with spinach and concealing it in pasta to hide it from God. Maultaschen Made Easy (German meat-filled pasta) 6 to 8 servings Ingredients: •             Spinach, fresh or frozen  •             Onion, minced -- ½                            ...
