Birthday Fun Swap

Because of high postage costs, this is an in-country swap. You will swap with someone in your own country unless you specify that you are willing to swap out of your country, and there are available partners.
Have you ever wanted to do something extra special for your birthday celebrations? A Birthday placemat and coaster set will make the birthday boy or girl feel extra special. For this swap, you will make 1 birthday placemat and 1 coordinating coaster. Ask your partner if she wants it to be specifically for a boy or a girl, or a generic design. Your placemat should be approximately 12" x 19", and the coaster should be only big enough for a cup. Your placemat must have some quilting and have either thin batting or flannel in the middle. Both the placemat and coaster must be machine washable. If you have never made a quilted placemat or coaster, there are lots of tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest. Please message me, Cyndy Clemons, if you have any questions or need help. Have fun!
To Sign-up please post your state/province and country.
Sign-up ends April 27th.
Partners will be assigned on May 1, 2026.
Mail by date is June 21, 2026
You MUST use tracking for this swap. If, for some reason, you cannot use tracking, please message me with a photo of the envelope. If you do not use tracking, you will have to resend if your partner does not receive your swap.

I love her with all my heart, it just makes me so sad that not much can be done for her while struggling through dementia. She told me it was beautiful and she appeared to like it. I showed her each square and what she can do with it. The first thing she noticed was the wording; „Mit Liebe Gemacht“ which translates to „Made with love“.  Oma Hildegard is German and I wanted to make sure she would recognize things and always remember that we love her.  What is a Fidget Blanket? These items offer sensory stimulation that can have a calming effect on patient who struggle with memory loss. The Fidget blankets help them stay busy avoiding boredom. It provides a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often reassuring and calming. ...
