Quilt Ladder Blocks Completed

I finally finished another set of ladder blocks for a swap. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of my previous blocks- but here is the one I made for Kim Skar:

I tried my best- definitely do not consider myself an expert, rather a novice quilter. Participating in swaps gives me extra practice and allows me to view others work.

Through swaps I have also received a few- when I have enough I‘ll sew them all together for a quilt. Visit link for received blocks „here“. If you are interested in participating,
please submit your contact information "here".

Join a swap event "here".

his Event replaces both the One Color and Multi Color Ladder Events.
This Ladder Block swap has been extended until September.
The Ladder Block is a great block to use up a lot of your fabric scraps. Each block is made from a variety of scraps of either one color or a variety of colors. You may use a FEW fabrics that are not the main color as long as those colors have been used in other scraps. Please use a good quality dark black fabric for the Ladder sides and make certain that your strips are rectangles (all sides are straight). All strips and steps must be cut from one piece of fabric, not pieced. Also, please do not use black (except for ladder sides), navy blue or other dark fabrics that look like solids from a distance for your side strips.
You may request whether you want One Color or Multi-Color Ladder Blocks, and if you want solid sides or strip sides. If you have made blocks already, please comment on this post which blocks you have available. Thanks!
The pattern can be requested by email.
Block size is 12.5" square.
Everyone will swap 1-2 blocks.
Last date to join a swap is the 27th of the preceding month. For example: 27th of October for the November swap.
Blocks MUST be mailed by the 21st of the month AT THE LATEST! Earlier is better!
By clicking GOING, you are agreeing to abide by the rules of the swap.
Click GOING if you want to swap. If you don't want to swap the next month, please change from GOING to MAYBE before the 27th of the month.
Partners will be published on the 1st day of the next month.
You must post photos of the blocks you receive and a Thank You in this Event.
If you have any questions, please message.

Fidget Blanket (Fummeldecke) Ideas

This will be my first time ever making a fidget blanket- I was so happy to have the opportunity today to gift my Oma a fidget blanket. I love her with all my heart, it just makes me so sad that not much can be done for her while struggling through dementia. She told me it was beautiful and she appeared to like it. I showed her each square and what she can do with it. The first thing she noticed was the wording; „Mit Liebe Gemacht“ which translates to „Made with love“.  Oma Hildegard is German and I wanted to make sure she would recognize things and always remember that we love her.  What is a Fidget Blanket? Fidget blankets are therapeutic small lap quilts to which different kinds of things are sewn or added on. These items offer sensory stimulation that can have a calming effect on patient who struggle with memory loss. The Fidget blankets help them stay busy avoiding boredom. It provides a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often reassuring and calming. ...
