Quilt Alongs

  

Most offer kits to purchase if desired, but not necessary and you can use your own stash. Most free patterns are only available for a limited time before the next one is available.  Included are pieced blocks, wool applique blocks, foundation paper piece blocks, table runners. Take a look through to see if there's anything you might like and join what interests you.  If you happen to have one you know of, please feel free to add!

Cotton/Piecing:

Moda Blockheads FB Group - Free quilt block design offered each week available for download by Moda designers. Most blocks offer instructions for different sized finished blocks. Block of the Month club FB group - This is a free group to join that Started Jan 2021. A 12-month journey of seasonal quilt blocks to represent the months of the year. Planned to be a scrap buster. Introduction and first month block in files section.

Scrappy Block of the month 2021 FB group -
This group is for quilt-makers who have some piecing under their belt, as our blocks tend to be in the intermediate/beginners' level. We make a block a month for our own quilt, which is finished in December.

Each new block will be posted on the first of each month. The blocks will be Royalty Free or approved by the designer for our use. You can use fabric from your own stash or purchase fabric. Snow Much Joy FB Group - Wool block of the month with a snowy theme called, "Snow Much Joy" by Calico Patch Designs. Started January 10. Free patterns download each month available. Potted Petals Mystery Stitch-A-Long FB Group - Beginning Jan 11, and every Monday following, one of twelve participating designers will feature their own "Potted Petals" featuring wool appliques on homespun background. Winter Wonderland Mystery Sew-A-Long FB Group - Twelve designers who have each designed one 12" finished block with a winter theme. One block released each week starting Jan 3. An additional week is added for finishing instructions. This will be my first time ever making a fidget blanket- I was so happy to have the opportunity today to gift my Oma a fidget blanket. The Low Oxalate Diet

A low-oxalate diet is a diet that is low in oxalates. Oxalate is a chemical found mostly in plant foods. A low oxalate diet can help prevent future kidney stones.  The most common type of kidney stone is calcium and oxalate. The following are low oxalate foods Meat:  All fresh and frozen meats: beef, pork, chicken, turkey; fish and seafood such as flounder, salmon, tuna, shrimp, scallops; and eggs. (Avoid cured meats.) Dairy:  Dairy products made with cow’s and goat’s milk, including buttermilk, skim milk, 1% and 2% milk, whole milk; butter; all cheeses, including cheddar, feta, farmer, goat, mozzarella, Parmesan; sour cream, whipping cream, half & half; yogurt, plain, or with low oxalate fruit. Fruits:  Apples, avocados, cherries, cranberries, bananas, melons (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon), seedless grapes (red and green), peaches, plums.
