Community Quilt Project

I thought about how cool it would be to create a community quilt. Where everyone makes a scrappy block and sends it in to me. I in turn sew it together and then we donate it. Blocks could come in for weeks from all over the world and opening envelopes and packages would be fun to share. We have such an incredible quilting community wouldn’t that be fun? I’ll cross my fingers and hope to get enough blocks for at least one quilt. This would be the perfect project to make with quilting friends near and far. Remember I can’t Do this without you! ❤️❤️❤️ This is the pattern I would like to use for the quilt “ here ”. It’s called  Pinwheel .  Leave a comment below if you would like to participate (project is ongoing until complete)

Rutherfordton Global Roots Mural Project

I joined this initiative because it allowed me to participate in something bigger. I appreciate nature and painted something that was light and free. I made a simple U-tube video  to go along with the painting - on how to use Q-tips for painting . That way my students can watch the video The flower that I drew reflects dandelion clocks that are ready to be blown to be carried through the wind.  This project is more than just art; it's a reflection of people across the country / world. Thanks to Lewis Lavoie, the artist whose vision brought us together. Through his work he brings people together in most meaningful and unforgettable way.    The Mural is located in 142 North Washington Street, Rutherfordton, North Carolina https://www.muralmosaic.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/FAMILY-series-2024-US-HORIZON.pdf Links: Mural Reveal
