Sewing Project with Michelle

The beginning….

We spent our first two weekends learning the machine, how to fill a bobbin and sewing straight lines.

Michelle proudly showed me her progress and unfortunately also had her first few experiences with a seam ripper.

We did amazing with strips 1-3, okay with three and four but then needed a little break.

Perfection takes time…. And learning to sew using FaceTime is not as easy as in person.

You got this Michelle!   We will get there…. Just be patient

Back to sewing Sunday, October 20th

Today went much better :)

Today we continued with strip 6 and completed the front. "Christmas Stocking".

Time for trimming. We trimmed 1/4“ from the edge…

We traced our stocking on to parchment paper and took a break.

The template will be used to cut out three fabric pieces and batting.

I showed her each square and what she can do with it. The first thing she noticed was the wording; „Mit Liebe Gemacht“ which translates to „Made with love“.  Oma Hildegard is German and I wanted to make sure she would recognize things and always remember that we love her.  What is a Fidget Blanket?
