Germanic Cream of wheat


4 cups (1 liter) of milk
6 - 7 tsp. (1/2 cup) cream of wheat or small packet (malt -o meal)
2 tsp. butter
2 - 3 tsp. sugar
vanilla sugar
1 egg or just egg white




Bring the milk to a boil, add the cream of wheat and sugar. Continue to cook until thick (continuously stirring). When thick take off the heat and beat in egg. Return to heat one more time to boil.

Can be served hot or cold, goes well with cinnamon sugar or apple sauce.
